burning long,
conical
the way it happens
when you draw
hard and fast
nothing else
moves
arm lifts
to mouth
lips purse
an exhale of smoke
arm drops
eyes still
fixed
on reflections
dancing on
automobile glass
the news
is still news
frozen
words
moving…
streaming
nonstop
through the mind
on auto play
over and over
eventually
the message,
heavy,
will settle
into place
